ABOUT ME
Dylan Katz, MS
Mental Performance Consultant
I am a mental performance consultant with a background in sport psychology, performance psychology, and resilience training. When I was a college baseball player, I never thought much about mental training and did not know sport psychologists existed. Now that I am in the field, I realize that I could have benefited from working with one!
My master’s program in athletic counseling highlighted the importance of focusing on the holistic person – how sport psychology skills and theory can help performers on the field, but also improve their lives. I embraced this practice in my work with US Army Soldiers, teaching mental skills to enhance their performance and promote resilience. And it continues in my work with Veterans who are dealing with the impact of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTSD. I’ve tried to develop a core approach to my work: listen, build trust, and create a space where each individual feels comfortable so they can thrive.
Through my work with athletes (Olympic-development, professional, collegiate, high school, youth, exercisers, weekend warriors), leadership & business teams, Service Members & Veterans, and musicians/artists, some main themes stand out: to grow mentally/emotionally, improve performance consistently, build a highly effective team, and achieve goals over time.
